Working across sculpture, experimental and documentary video, woven structures\/textiles, and sound, her research-creation practice engages with issues of cultural and ecological impacts of resource industry expansion within culturally diverse communities\u2014in particular, rural Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in Canada\u2019s northern regions. Recent SSHRC-funded research-creation projects as Principal Investigator include\u00a0<em>Shifting Ground: Mapping Energy, Communities and Geographies in the North<\/em> (2019-2023) and <em>Trading Routes: Grease Trails, Oil Pipelines<\/em> (2013-2015).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ruth Beer:<\/strong> Sa recherche artistique interdisciplinaire est enrichie par les sciences sociales et les humanit\u00e9s dans le domaine \u00e9tendu de l\u2019art et des m\u00e9dias contemporains. She is a sociologist of health and illness specializing in interpretive methods and the social studies of HIV-related policy and medical inadmissibility law in the Canadian immigration system. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Laura Bisaillon<\/strong>, Ph.D., est professeure adjointe au Centre interdisciplinaire sur la sant\u00e9 et la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto \u00e0 Scarborough. She is the founder of Far Afield, an artist-led initiative that supports rural and regionally-connected artistic and curatorial practices. Recent projects have been presented at Access Gallery (Vancouver, BC), Ranger Station Art Gallery (Harrison, BC), Otis College of Art and Design (Los Angeles, CA), and Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity (Banff, AB). She holds a Masters of Fine Arts degree from Emily Carr University of Art and Design (2016).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caitlin Chaisson<\/strong> est \u00e9crivaine et conservatrice artistique ind\u00e9pendante. Her publications include essays on Caribbean literature, ecocriticism, film analysis, and trans-cultural feminism. She edited a special issue of <em>Imaginations: Journal of Cross-Cultural Image Studies<\/em> (6.2) on Caribbean cinema. She serves as Vice-President and Program Chair of the Canadian Comparative Literature Association. Her current research focuses on transnational cinema and ecopoetry. Her collection <em>All That Depends<\/em> (2019) combines poetry and photography.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Doris Hambuch<\/strong> est professeure agr\u00e9g\u00e9e de litt\u00e9rature et d\u2019\u00e9tudes cin\u00e9matographiques \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 des \u00c9mirats Arabes Unis. Her final project entitled Showing Artful Inquiry was an arts-integrated community intervention working with youth in St. James Town. She explored how painting activities can be used to stimulate mental wellbeing and feelings of connectedness to the people and places we call home. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Mehdia Hassan<\/strong> est titulaire d\u2019une ma\u00eetrise en justice sociale de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Lakehead. Son projet final, Showing Artful Inquiry, a consist\u00e9 en une intervention communautaire int\u00e9grant les arts qui lui a permis de travailler avec les jeunes de St. James Town. In 2017, her mixed media installation entitled Roshan, which presented a commentary on social justice issues in Afghanistan, was awarded first prize at the Art Museum\u2019s Student Art Exhibition, University of Toronto.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maryam Hassan<\/strong> est titulaire d\u2019une licence de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto o\u00f9 elle a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 la sociologie, les arts visuels et les civilisations du Proche et du Moyen-Orient. She is a well-known photographer in the field of model and travel photography having frequently been on stage for Nikon and Sony. Further, she works as an associate professor for media and photography at Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Pune (India) and at the Indian Institute of Photography, Noida (India) and as journalist for photography magazine (Germany).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maja Jerrentrup<\/strong> combine dans son travail la th\u00e9orie et la pratique photographiques. Photographe de renom dans le domaine de la photographie de mod\u00e8le et de voyage, elle a fr\u00e9quemment paru sur sc\u00e8ne pour Nikon et Sony. Her Ph.D. Thesis revolved around the 1980s video culture in Greece and was submitted to the Department of Communication and Media Studies (National &amp; Kapodistrian University of Athens). Her research interests include Visual Culture, Popular Film &amp; Video, Visual Ethnography, and Visual Folklore. She is an adjunct tutor at the Department of Journalism &amp; Media Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a tutor at the Hellenic Open University (School of Social Sciences).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ursula-Helen Kassaveti<\/strong> est native d\u2019Ath\u00e8nes.
